August 8, 2025
Dear Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union Community,
On behalf of the Boards of Education, administrators, and staff, I’m excited to welcome both new and returning students and families to the 2025–2026 school year! Throughout the summer, our teams have been hard at work preparing buildings, classrooms, transportation, and schedules to ensure a smooth and successful start. We can’t wait to open our doors and begin another year of learning and growth together.
As your Superintendent, I’m eager to continue to get to know the communities we serve. Over the coming months, I plan to visit classrooms, attend PTO meetings, take part in extracurricular activities, and join local events. These experiences will help me better understand the unique strengths, needs, and priorities across our district, and support our shared goal of meeting each student’s academic and social-emotional needs—both now and for their future.
Using our Continuous Improvement Planning to Expand the Learning Within Our Organization
Our work for the 2025-26 school year will continue to focus on attendance, academic performance and growth, behavior, and social-emotional learning and growth, graduation and college, career, and life readiness. Our educators all have a role to play in this year’s educational journey to ensure that students are prepared for next year and beyond.
Within our system, we will share, value, and utilize each educator’s knowledge, expertise, and experiences, including those that our students and families bring to school each day, which is incredibly important to our work moving forward. It builds trust, strengthens relationships, and creates a more inclusive learning environment. When we recognize and elevate the strengths each person brings, we foster a culture of respect and belonging. This mindset sets the tone for a collaborative and student-centered school year.
Stay Connected
We encourage families to stay engaged and informed throughout the school year. I’ll continue visiting schools, attending PTO meetings, extracurricular events, and other community gatherings to further understand the unique strengths and needs of each site. These connections will help guide our shared work and ensure we are using our resources in ways that best support students now and into the future.
Together, we have the power to shape the future—not only through what we teach, but how we support and inspire each other. Let’s embrace our diverse talents and perspectives to create inclusive, engaging, and innovative learning environments.
Here are additional ways you can stay connected. Please make sure that all contact information needed to reach you is updated in the Powerschool student information system. Contact your school for more details.
I will schedule Coffees with the Superintendent around our towns shortly. We will post the schedule on the website and I look forward to meeting you to hear your thoughts and ideas.
